Gary Scholars

ECIER Foundation partnered with the City of Gary to award scholarships to high school graduates in Gary, Indiana. Majestic Star Casino provided a donation for scholarships, Purdue University Northwest, Indiana University Northwest and IVY Tech Community College partnered to provide matching scholarships.

 

ECIER Foundation provides a structured educational program, students are taught how to produce their own television show in a newly designed studio located in Gary, IN. The purpose is for students to interview entrepreneurs in a studio to learn more about the entrepreneurs business. The students become cameramen, floor directors, television hosts, etc. They are required to provide innovative entrepreneurial show. The foundation provides workshops focused on developing their academic, creative and leadership skills. Students must maintain the foundations required GPA and participate in additional incentives that are offered. Once the program is completed at the end of the school year students become eligible to receive a scholarship.

 

The City of Gary and ECIER Foundation believes that empowering today’s youth with a good education is essential.
